One week before Osterafest
Pyrlig woken by Tommen, a house in his hometown is haunted, and a heroic part is needed to oust the ghost. Pyrlig promises a possible moderate reward for helping remove the ghost to the party members.
Emrys shaken down by members of the Hands, threatened in his shop.
Anya hears about an ex-lover, Brandon, who’s annual delivery of pelts and meat is overdue with no word.
Alamar collects promises for future help from rest of the party, possibly in connection with the Red Hills Gang.
Governor Wym is getting married to Lady Amelia Kendrick next week.
Party decides to investigate Brandon and the disappearing furs and food first.
While on their way to the lodge, the party fails to negotiate a lower price from an unpleasant boatman.
The party arrives at the lodge to find it deserted for weeks, food on the table, beds unmade, and the food stores ransacked. There were also signs of destructive and wasteful skinning of animals. After a nights rest, the party found tracks, both human and kobold, leading into the woods. We followed them, and encountered the Tree Warden, who was furious at Brandon’s hunters for exploiting his forest. The Warden directed us to Tic-tic, the leader of the kobolds to help us find the humanoids. During the parties negotiations with Tic-tic, his hunters lead an owlbear into the encampment, which was summarily slain, shocking all of us for whom this was a first combat (Riff especially).
After locating the owlbears nest in an ancient city, we found several items of interest; 50 gp, a glowing sword, a note to the governor that warned of Lady Kendrick being ‘Not all she seems’, and an ancient door, sealed with a less ancient but illegible bronze plaque that Emrys took a rubbing of.
Then Alamar remember he could ‘track’ not ‘trek’, we resumed our search for hte missing hunters. We lost the trail, but eventually went back to the lodge. After most of the night, several of us were woken and charmed, leading the party to a nest of harpies, who killed Emrys, and nearly killed us all. after seeing them off, and rescuing a much abused Brandon, we watched with some trepidation as a blue panel casting otherworldly light slowly disappeared with the dawn. On our return to the lodge, the Tree Warden appeared and demanded the defiler, Brandon. Anya and Alamar struck a deal for Brandon’s life in exchange for reviving Emrys. Brandon was dead before protests could leave the other party member’s lips, and Emrys came back telling us that he had to promise to opose Minax, who was not dead but plotting and raising armies.
Fearing for the Governor, and hoping to curry his favor, the party hurries back to Trinsic….
