~Hilo Hattie Firepeak
Acid Glue Cube
The nearly transparent gelatinous cube travels slowly along the Trinsic Catacomb tunnels and cave floors. It appears to absorb anything it touches: trash, small animals, and carrion. It is roughly 10 feet to a side and may have an acid attack though we didn’t touch it to find out. Nico, the blacksmith apprentice, could have told us but he was too busy being consumed by the beast.
Dragon
Bigger than legends tell. Grand scales, steely eyes, wings that brush away clouds. Glorious.
Cavern Acid Ooze
This blob of acid was found in the hidden tunnel below the Alchemist’s house. It seemed a much smaller version of the Acid Glue Cube we discovered in the Trinisic Catacombs. It splashes acid on anything it moves and attempts to engulf and devour it.
Ghoul
Discovered in the rendering pit below Trinsic’s marketplace. This undead humanoid would feed on anything.
Harpy
Harpies like to entrance hapless travelers with their magical songs and lead them to unspeakable torments. Only when a harpy has finished playing with its new “toys” will it release them from suffering by killing and consuming them. Legend says that if a person is killed by a harpy, and then that harpy is killed, the person may return to life (not confirmed!).
Fire Elemental
Though humanoid in shape, these primordial beings are pure fire. Discovered in the abandoned mine which leads to the Dwarven kingdom and a dragon’s lair.
Lizardfolk
The Lizardfolk have their breeding grounds far south of Pyrlig’s hometown of Sandpoint. They are roughly six to seven feet in height, with green scales, and a long tail which is used for balance. The lizardmen we encountered were fierce warriors. Though they spoke Common, I suspect their native language may be Draconic.
Mushroom Folk
Mutant Spider
Discovered in the abandoned mine. All monstrous spiders are aggressive predators that use their poisonous bites to subdue or kill prey. Monstrous spiders come in two general types: hunters and web-spinners. Hunters rove about, while web-spinners usually attempt to trap prey.
Rat Swarm
Found in the temple ruins in the Trinisic Catacombs. The rats seem to travel in a pack and seek to surround and attack any warm-blooded prey it encounters.
Sewer Hag
Stirge
Discovered by accident in the Alchemist’s abandoned (haunted) home by Adela. This bat-like creature has four limbs and two sets of wings, is rust red in color, and has a large stinging, needle-nose which it uses to attack intruders. A stirge’s body is about 1 foot long, with a wingspan of about 2 feet. It weighs about 1 pound.
Tree Ent
A talking tree.
